Haymarket Media Group is a privately owned media company headquartered in London, United Kingdom. It has offices in Australia, Belgium, China, Germany, India, Japan, Singapore and the United States.[1]
Haymarket has publications in the consumer, business, professional and customer sectors, both print and online. It also operates exhibitions allied to its own publications, and on behalf of organisations such as the BBC. The company has expanded outside the UK in recent years.
In the UK its main offices are located in Hammersmith and Teddington, both in London, with additional offices in Gloucester and Daventry.[2]

Haymarket began as Cornmarket Press in the 1950s. Clive Labovitch and Michael Heseltine – later a minister under Margaret Thatcher and Deputy Prime Minister under John Major – who had met at university started out with the 1957 Directory of Opportunities for Graduates and in 1959 relaunched Man About Town , which was to become an influential (if unprofitable) men's consumer magazine. The company failed in its relaunch of the British news weekly Topic, the title closing at the end of 1962, within three months of the takeover.[3] The partners split in 1965, with Heseltine renaming his half of the business Haymarket Press to publish Management Today.[4] The company was renamed Haymarket Publishing and, due to its growing presence in online media and live events, it was rebranded as Haymarket Media Group in 2007.
This division provides news and information for professionals in areas including environmental management, horticulture, planning, medicine and marketing. These are generally subscription-only publications and, in all but a limited number of cases, are not available for sale via retail. Haymarket publishes a number of consumer magazines, all for sale by retail, and also a number of websites. The portfolio includes Autosport, Autocar, CAT, Classic and Sports Car, Classic FM, CRN Australia, F1 Racing, FourFourTwo, Gramophone, MotorSport News, PistonHeads, Practical Caravan, Practical Motorhome, PC Authority, Racer, Stuff, What Car? and What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision. The division is also home to photographic agency, LAT.
This division produces publications and websites on behalf of other organizations, such as the British Army. It produced the programme for the first FA Cup Final at the reconstructed Wembley Stadium in 2007, a stadium that drew criticism from the media for its cost.,[5] although copies were sold on eBay above the £10 cost. The clients and portfolio include America’s Cup, Army, Champions, England, Jaguar, London 2012 Olympics, Manchester United, Nike, Panasonic, Sony, Toyota, UEFA, and United Review.
The company's first foray in exhibitions occurred in 1990[6] on the back of the popular Autosport weekly magazine, produced by Haymarket Consumer Media. The consumer exhibitions division is now a market leader in the UK, with an increasing portfolio and audited attendance of over half a million paid visitors.
The Exhibitions division operates in consumer and business-to-business sectors, whilst running a successful joint venture with BBC Worldwide and various other partners.
Haymarket Exhibitions' shows are known for their quality of content and are registered with the Association of Event Organisers.[7]

Haymarket operates a number of web-only services. These include Brand Republic, for advertising, marketing and media professionals, PR Week, a site for public relations professionals, Blue Boomerang, an online directory for the media and marketing industry, and Healthcare Republic for the UK's primary healthcare sector. In addition, Haymarket bought PistonHeads, a site for car enthusiasts, in 2007 and Caravan SiteFinder, the UK's leading booking website for park holidays.
Brand Republic is an online magazine for the British advertising industry.[9] First opened in 2001,[10] it was relaunched in 2007.[11]
Haymarket publishes business media across print, web and mobile in New York, Australia, Germany, India and Hong Kong.[12] The company has also licensed titles and content for publication in over 110 territories in which it does not publish.
It publishes a number of titles in India, including Autocar, Autocar Professional, What Car? and What Hifi? Sound and Vision. In the summer of 2007, Haymarket launched an Indian version of Campaign, its advertising industry weekly, with an initial circulation of 17,000. "Every sector of the media is growing in India as we speak, and it just seems right [to launch more titles]. The great thing is there's a huge thirst for knowledge and the media can fill that," deputy chairman Rupert Heseltine, 39, told the 30 August 2007 edition of :)UK's Press Gazette media weekly.[13]
